Our Yin/Restorative classes consist of a part of classical Yin (see Yin description), and a part of Restorative. This style of yoga is also called “supported” yoga, as it is a very gentle and relaxing approach where the body is supported by accessories (unlike Yin which works in deep stretching). Restorative yoga works mainly on the nervous system and the relaxation of the body and mind. Gentle postures are maintained for 5 to 10 minutes and are performed while sitting, lying down or in slight inversion. This relaxing practice can provide physical benefits such as lowering blood pressure, but also psychological benefits such as stabilizing and improving mood. It is suitable for people of all ages, all levels of yoga and all health conditions.
