ABOUT YOGA3

YOGA3 offers a physical guided practice in strength and flexibility, pacing it with the breath and a better overall body awareness.  In our fast paced lives, we often forget that we have a body! Although our mind would benefit from a healthy physical support, often we let the body express itself only when pain and stress kick in, and sometimes even disease. We too often focus on thoughts, ideas, mental space that never stops. At YOGA3, we aim at giving back a space and time to our bodies, but in a personal, non-competitive environment. We offer classes to stretch and reinforce our muscular structure, but also reunite body and mind.

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a form of yoga where the breath guides the practice. The postures are drawn from classic Ashtanga, but become linked in a flow where transitions are as important as postures themselves. While remaining a good workout, the practice includes relaxation and integrity, power and strength.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

The term vinyasa refers to the alignment of movement and breath, a method which turns static yoga postures into a dynamic flow. The length of one inhale or one exhale dictates the length of time spent transitioning between postures. Poses are then held for a predefined number of breaths. In effect, attention is placed on the breath and the journey between the postures rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in a pose, as is emphasized in Hatha yoga.
